Oregon Air Guard Vietnam Veterans
John Serlet served in the USAF as a jet engine mechanic in the 604th Air Commando Squadron and was stationed at Bien Hoa Air Base, RVN from 1967 – 1968. The Tet Offensive occurred during his year in Vietnam and Bien Hoa was assaulted by enemy ground forces during the chaotic fighting, but friendly forces retained control of the base.
