The Dusty Start: The 142nd Wing’s Early SW Asia Experience

SSgt Luke Jewell was one of 26 personnel in the 142nd Security Police Flight to mobilize during Operation DESERT STORM. Employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad as a switchman, he said “it was the right thing to do” and felt it important he fulfill his professional military responsibilities. He is seen here during a CBPO mobilization briefing in February, 1991. (Photo by TSgt Tami Tate-Hall, 142WG History Archive)
