The Storm Before the Calm – October, 1962 Part 1: The Columbus Day Storm

337th Fighter Group Convair F-102 Delta Dagger interceptors of the Air Defense Command on Portland AFB, Oregon are parked on the active duty ramp, their noses pointed to the northwest. The Group’s 460th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, known for its large tiger on the tail, operated the F-102 from 1958 to 1966, when it inactivated and passed its F-102s along to the Oregon ANG.
