Satellite NCO Academy at Portland Oregon National Guard Base

Portland Air National Guard Base, PORTLAND, Ore.-- As part of the professional development efforts of the 142nd Fighter Wing, the satellite Noncommissioned Officer Training Academy began on base March 22, 2010 to train technical sergeants, and some staff sergeants valuable leadership skills to help them in their Air Force careers.

The academy is a 12 week course held on base, culminating as the students travel to McGee Tyson Air Force Base, Tenn. for two final weeks of leadership training, where the students will receive their diplomas.

Chief Master Sgt. Max White, Master Sgt. Thomas Olson, Master Sgt. Robert Maca, Master Sgt. Tracey Snow and Master Sgt. Jason Hunt attended a five day training course at McGee Tyson Air Base to allow them to instruct the NCO Academy at PANG.

The course is being held  on base Mondays and Wednesdays, from 6 -10 p.m.

Once the students receive their diplomas, they will be certified to teach the Airman Leadership School, another satellite course which is being sought after to be offered here on a semiannual basis.
