142 FW CES Vertical Ventilation Exercise

Portland Air National Guard Base, Portland, Ore. --  Feb 21, 2010-- The 142 FW Civil Engineer Squadron conducted a vertical ventilation training exercise on the vacant former base exchange building today.

This exercise was designed to train the fire fighters on roof ventilation.  A 4 foot by 4 foot hole was cut in the roof of the former BX during the training that allows heat and smoke to escape and gives hose teams opportunity to advance to the source of an actual fire.
