D-Day: 70 years
U.S. Army Air Force 1st Lt. Stanley P. Richardson, Jr. was a postwar member of the 123rd Fighter Squadron in the 1950s. In World War II he was a P-38 Lightning fighter pilot in the 338th Fighter Squadron of the 55th Fighter Group and flew three combat missions on D-Day. This picture was taken circa 1944.
