Douglas A-20 Havoc

The 35th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron flew a single Douglas A-20 Havoc, and two of the similar Douglas DB-7, light attack bombers in the photographic reconnaissance role in 1943, and during the Oregon Maneuver. The squadron flew in support of the Blue Forces during the maneuver, and afterward re-equipped with the Lockheed F-5 Photo Lightning before it deployed overseas to China in 1944 to perform the photo recon mission. This early-model A-20A was flown by the 58th Bomb Squadron and is pictured over Oahu, Hawaii on May 29, 1941. (U.S. Air Force Photo)
