First responders deploy to support Vigilant-Guard
Soldiers and Airmen from the Oregon National Guard’s Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosives (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP) walk toward a waiting C-5 Galaxy, March 26, 2014, as they depart the Portland Air National Guard Base, Ore., in support of Vigilant Guard-Alaska 2014. More than 200 Guardsmen from Oregon traveled to Joint-Base Elmendorf-Richardson for 10-days of training, along with Hawaii National Guard CERFP members, to take part in a disaster scenario modeled after the March 27, 1964 earthquake in Alaska.
