Honor Flight
Fred Parish, of La Grande, Oregon, sits beside the granite pillar honoring Oregon and its veterans at the World War II Memorial during a recent Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. Parish is a pioneering member of the Oregon National Guard’s 123rd Observation Squadron and served on active duty in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He served as a medic both stateside and in the China-Burma-India theaters during the war, and attained the rank of Technical Sergeant.
