First Time at William Tell
Two Oregon Air Guardsmen of a four-man Weapons load team lift an AIM-4 Falcon air-to-air missile in a cradle up into the missile bay of a F-102 Delta Dagger fighter-interceptor at Portland Air Base, Oregon, circa 1968. OreANG Weapons troop Bill McAuley remembers “You almost had to be a contortionist to load the center rails.” The F-102 could carry six AIM-4 missiles in tandem pairs, left, center and right in the weapons bay.
