Oregon National Guard Withdraws Troops from State Hospitals
Staff Sgt. Matthew Ling, 142nd Communications Flight, Portland Air National Guard Base, Ore., conducts a routine security patrol at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in support of Joint Task Force-Reassurance. Many of the hospitals augmented by Task Force-Metro reported a decrease in garage vandalisms, which was attributed to the Guardsmen acting as a deterrent to would-be vandals. The Oregon National Guard mobilized 1,588 servicemembers and provided over 300,000 labor hours in support of over 20 hospitals across Oregon. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by 1st Lt. N.
