Remembering Across Time: Memorial Day 2022 in the 142nd Wing

Second Lieutenant Eugene E. Sanderson, a P-47 Thunderbolt pilot, was the first member of the 371st Fighter Group (today’s 142nd Wing) lost in World War II when he was killed on April 12, 1944 during an engineering test hop of a P-47 at Bisterne, England.
