The Beloved Portland Air Base Chapel
The Portland Air Base Chapel is located on the southwest corner of the former base hospital grounds, now multipurpose activity fields, in roughly the center of the original cantonment area of the base built in 1941. It now is at the southwest corner of the much-reduced base. This aerial view dates to around the late 1950s when the base was an active duty Air Force installation. (142nd Wing History Archive)
