An Anniversary and an Adjustment: Remembering the former POWs of the 142nd Wing
Lt. Joseph E. Larochelle is pictured here kneeling in the front row, second from the left in this picture of the initial cadre of the 371st Fighter Group’s 404th Fighter Squadron. He became the group’s first pilot to be taken captive on D-Day, June 6, 1944, and was one of six pilots from his squadron whop became POWs in the war.
