Fightin’ Bull in the Indochina Shop – The Southeast Asia Service of Lars Granath
469th Tactical Fighter Squadron Fightin’ Bulls F-4E 67-0306 was “Lars Granath’s aircraft,” and is seen here during a level weapons delivery of a dozen Mk 82 500-lb bombs in late 1971-1972. This suggests either a LORAN-guided drop with an F-4D or RF-4C from another wing used to navigate to a weather-obscured target area, or a Combat Skypot ground-based radar-guided delivery on an enemy target. Tail number 306 survived combat in Southeast Asia and then served with the 36th TFS Flying Fiends at Osan AB, Korea, before being lost in an accident with another unit in Alaska.
