Chomping at the Bit – The 371st Fighter Group’s Start on D-Day
In this picture of 404th Fighter Squadron pilots taken at Bisterne Airfield, England in the Spring of 1944, 2nd Lt Joseph E. Larochelle, the 371st Fighter Groups first pilot shot down by the enemy and taken captive as a prisoner of war, is seen in the first row, second in from the left.
