Purple Hearts for 371st Fighter Group Air Warriors Wounded in Action
Maj. Edwin D. Taylor, 406th Fighter Squadron commander from April 1943 to September 1944, was wounded in action during his service as an RAF Eagle Squadron pilot in July, 1942. It appears that he may have received a Purple Heart in 371st Fighter Group service, though the circumstances are not clear in review of unit historical records. He is pictured here during his RAF service with No. 133 Squadron. (American Air Museum in Britain)
