Trademark Red Flight - One “POW,” One MIA

Capt. George D. Pieck, the operations officer of 404th Fighter Squadron, 371st Fighter Group, led Trademark Red flight on June 8, 1944. He was shot down by flak behind enemy lines over France, parachuted and landed safely on August 10, 1944 but remains MIA to this day. (The Story of the 371st Fighter Group in the ETO)
