Pearson Field’s Role in Oregon Military Aviation
Alexander Pearson, Jr. stands in front of a Curtiss R-8 racing plane. This was the type of aircraft he was flying from McCook Field near Dayton, Ohio that crashed on September 2, 1924, killing him. Pearson Field in Vancouver, Washington was named in his honor in 1925. (Mark Davis, via Find a Grave)
