Col. Scott Powell, USAF (Retired) is pictured here in the fall of 2025, signing the nose wheel well of F-4C 64-0776 as one who flew it in his time with and as commander of the 123rd Fighter-Interceptor Squadron, the “Redhawks,” at Portland ANG Base, Oregon in the 1980s. 776 was a triple MiG killer assigned to the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing, the Gunfighters, at Da Nang Air Base, Republic of Vietnam, in the late 1960s.
