“...It was anticlimactic” - Victory in Europe Day for the 371st Fighter Group
Original caption: “Monument to a shattered myth.” The Zeppelinfeld Stadium on the Nazi party rally grounds in Nuremberg, Germany after the war. It could seat over 200,000 people with another 500,000 on parade through the field. It lies empty, devoid of the people following the Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and minus the giant swastika formerly atop the reviewing grandstand in the center which was destroyed with explosives by American forces in April, 1945.
