COLONEL BRADLEY M. YOUNG
Colonel Bradley Young is the Commander of the 142nd Mission Support Group, Portland Air National Guard Base, Oregon. He leads over 350 airmen in five diverse squadrons including Security Forces, Force Support, Civil Engineering, Logistics Readiness, and Communications. As Commander, he is responsible for their execution of Aerospace Control Alert, worldwide deployments, and domestic operations as directed by the Governor of Oregon.
Col Young was commissioned from the United States Air Force Academy in 2004 and attended Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB, Texas. In pilot training he earned an assignment to the F-15C and began his first operational assignment in the 58th Fighter Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In 2008, he was selected to transition to the F-22 and completed a second operational assignment with time in both the 7th and 8th Fighter Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. In 2011 Col Young was assigned to the 525th Fighter Squadron at Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson continuing to fly the F-22. In 2012 Col Young separated from the Active Component and joined the 123d Fighter Squadron as a member of the Oregon Air National Guard. He is a command pilot with over 1900 hours in the T-6A, T-38A, T-38C, F-15C/D, F-15EX, and F-22. Prior to his current assignment, Col Young served as the 142WG Inspector General.
