On Veterans Day, 2010, Vietnam combat veteran Col Lars Granath spoke about his postwar experience with the F-15 Eagle in a ceremony which dedicated F-15A Eagle serial number 73-089 at the Evergreen Air & Space Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. F-4C Phantom II 63-7647 nearby at the right shows two red stars for aerial victories aircrew obtained in it during the Vietnam War. Col Granath is seen here before the ceremony, at the lower left in the white pants and dark sportcoat standing near the two jets which signify the 142nd Wing’s transformation which added an air superiority capability to the unit. In June, 1942, Hollywood star Lana Turner embarked on a 10-week war bond tour which brought her to the pacific Northwest during Portland’s Rose Festival time in June, 1942. In her time in Portland she visited the servicemen at PAAB. Here, 1942 Rose Festival Queen Shirley Fowler from Franklin High School is shown as she anointed Lana Turner as an honorary member of the Rose Court.
