Trademark Red Flight - One “POW,” One MIA
Lt. Hohl, from New Brighton, Pennsylvania, was a P-47 Thunderbolt pilot assigned to the 404th Fighter Squadron, and shot down on June 8, 1944. He survived this shootdown and experienced an unusual evasion experience which seemed like a detention to him, but he eventually returned to friendly control in late August, 1944.
